Such a happy day

Stacie and I traveled to Batesville last Saturday to attend a baby shower for our friend Bethany. Everything about the shower was lovely: the gorgeous home in which it was held; the fabulous food; the friendly, kind, funny women who attended; the excellent gear for baby Maggie and her parents. But the best part of all, of course, was getting to see Bethany healthy, joyful, and embracing the changes in her life. Life is good.

The glass in my hand isn't a cocktail. Each guest received a votive with the baby's name and a request: When we hear the news that Maggie has arrived, we're to light the candle in celebration. I can't wait!
